Job Description: Our client in Hillsborough County, FL is seeking to hire a full time PACS Project Lead. Clinical background in Radiology required. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Headquarters PACS Administrator, this position ensures the successful operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with minimal oversight. The successful candidate shall possess and demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the PACS system, Radiology Departments, Information Systems and networking. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform system maintenance on the PACS system, images, interfaces and databases Perform system failure and recovery and resolution/work-around methods Perform system troubleshooting of anomalies - notify technical support during system anomalies Manage, monitor and maintain PACS system to ensure the maximum uptime and availability Serve as the primary Vendor point of contact for service and support Manage the PACS Vendor relationship and performance Develop and maintain PACS system security policies [particularly as they relate to HIPAA] Maintain data integrity, consistency and patient privacy Document system design, configuration, maintenance and issues Perform [daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly] system maintenance procedures Monitor disk usage and disk space Perform system backups Perform database maintenance Perform patient list cleanup Perform archive maintenance Monitor optical disc and tape space thresholds; Initiate addition of storage capacity Monitor printer and monitor image quality and calibration Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot peripheral devices Configure, maintain, and document user access, user profiles and system configurations Assign and manage user privileges and access rights Maintain and change end user passwords Create and maintain base folders and access Coordinate system upgrades Document system acceptance testing procedures and results Communicate and educate end users Communicate system changes and upgrades to end users Document end user feedback for system modifications and improvements Train new system users; design the training plan Split, repair and merge broken studies

Job Requirements: REQUIRED: Working knowledge of McKesson PACS Working knowledge of Carestream CR/DR Understanding of RIS system and functionality Understanding/working knowledge of Cerner Power Chart/RadNet Knowledge of modality interfacing methods Working knowledge of DICOM functionality and integrating techniques Minimum of 3 years in information technology or PACS Clinical knowledge or working experience of Radiology Department workflow PREFERRED: Knowledge of Windows NT operating system and associated tools Working knowledge of UNIX (HP-UX/ AIX) and associated tools Comprehensive working knowledge of networking Educational Requirements: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Radiology Sciences or equivalent experience. Licensed Radiology Technologist or equivalent clinical experience required. Licensed PACS Administrator Certification CIIP or PARCA or equivalent experience preferred
