Job Description: Our client in New Hanover County, NC is seeking to hire a full time Ancillary Application Analyst. Epic certifications in Radiant, Cardiant, or Beaker required. An analytical IT background & knowledge of DICOM configuration is also required. Relocation available. JOB SUMMARY: Ancillary Application Analysts reports to the IS Manager and is responsible for working with user departments, technical project leaders and other IS resources to define requirements and implement solutions. Ancillary Application Analysts have responsibility for design, build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of ancillary applications. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the software functionality, and acquiring knowledge of the ancillary department representatives. Design a future-state workflow and build the system to support the new workflow. Works with others in workgroups and across interdisciplinary workgroups to accomplish these goals as a team. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. Designs, documents and implements future-state ancillary workflows consistent with clinical best practices and system functionality in collaboration with other team members, ancillary and clinical department representatives, and under the general direction of the IS Manager. Analyzes current state workflows / needs and translating these into system design. Designs, builds and validates the application to conform to desired ancillary and clinical workflows within assigned area. 2. Works closely with the servers and desktop, network, database administrators, and system administrators for performance and support of systems. 3. Collaborates with Principal Trainers in the design and development of role-based training programs to support the workflows to be implemented. Trains end-users on proper use of the application. 4. Populates master tables and system files in accordance with established guidelines following standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications. 5. Follows established guidelines for system change control. Implements approved changes based on customer-designated priorities. Maintains system documentation to enable ongoing support of the system. Identifies revisions needed to existing Policies & Procedures, and initiates revision process with appropriate organizational departments. 6. Supports end-users onsite during go-live events. Troubleshoots problems identified by team members and end-users. Identifies, documents, tracks and resolves issues pertaining to workflows. 7. Reviews and tests new builds and releases prior to implementing in the production environment. Tests in a structured manner and documents testing results. 8. Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. 9. Cross-coordinates the design of future-state workflows with other interdisciplinary teams, ancillary, clinical and revenue cycle. 10. Identifies clinical content functional requirements and timeliness to the appropriate Clinical Content Sub-Committee (Ambulatory, Emergency Dept, Inpatient, or CPM teams.) 11. Collaborates with Clinical Content Sub-Committee to plan and present Epic model system or third party vendor clinical content for clinical review by subject matter experts. 12. Serves as a staff resource to the Clinical Content Sub-Committees; may participate in clinical content review meetings, takes minutes, perform demonstrations, and support the committees as necessary. 13. Collaborates with Clinical Informatics and Care Coordination Team Leader (CPM) in matters pertaining to third party content and enterprise-wide distribution of clinical content. 14. Communicates project status with team, department representatives and leaders (including Senior Leadership). Provides formal status report on a periodic basis to supervisor as requested.
Job Requirements: ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school, either through an AD or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (such as nursing, Lab, Cardiology, or Radiology technology), or 7 years experience in a Health Care related position. 2. Licensure / Certifications: None required although licensure and/or certification in a clinical discipline (Lab, Radiology, Cardiology, or Nursing) is preferred. Certifications in Radiant, Cardiant, or Beaker are required. 3. Experience: Two to four years relevant experience required. Three to five years of healthcare business/clinical experience preferred. Three to five years hospital applications experience preferred. Prefer experience within a medium to large healthcare organization. An analytical IT background is also required. Knowledge of DICOM configuration. Understanding of network administration and database configuration. Understands interrelations between storage, networking, and application configuration for Clinical and Ancillary Applications.
