Job Description: Our client in New Hanover County, NC is seeking to hire full time Report Analysts. There are 3 openings. Primary focuses are: Epic Radiant, Epic OpTime/Anesthesia, and Epic Ambulatory. Epic Clarity Certification required. Relocation available. Report Writers have primary responsibility for writing reports that support Epic Inpatient, Outpatient or Revenue Cycle Modules (i.e. Cadence, ASAP, Ambulatory and Hospital Billing.) Helps gather user requirements from various clinical and revenue cycle areas to design, develop and support reports from Epic’s SQL based Clarity database. Develops reports using Business Objects’ Crystal Reports running against the Epic Clarity Database. Performs data analysis and data validation to ensure accurate reporting results. Ensures timely distribution of reports to target audience. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: 1. Identifies and documents clinical and / or business department(s) reporting requirements. 2. Analyzes and implements the functionality and operations of systems to determine standard and ad hoc reporting capabilities per organizational needs. 3. Prepares detailed specifications, technical and user documentation from which reports and extracts will be written. 4. Responsible for providing report design, development, testing, debug, programming and modification support and maintenance of reports in multiple databases, environments, and applications for efficient and effective reporting. 5. Ensures ongoing modification, maintenance and support of test/production reporting projects. 6. Utilizes database tools and applications to provide support and maintenance of reports/and databases/systems for EPIC. 7. Performs programming and support for systems using SQL/OLAP based systems, Crystal Reports and other systems and modules as assigned. 8. Performs SQL database programming, report writing and maintenance. 9. Performs related programming for reporting using tools such as SML and HTML, Crystal Reports, Query Analyzer and other database reporting tools. 10. Provides expert knowledge of the Epic Clarity SQL tables as they relate to the hospital accounting and clinical applications. 11. Utilizes technical knowledge of web based / Client Server applications and their proper setup, use, and report distribution. 12. Provides reporting analysis, programming and problem resolution to facilitate reporting process improvement of complex systems. 13. Cross-coordinates the design of data collection tools with appropriate clinical and / or business content coordinators to ensure that the data needed to populate reports is being collected within the system. 14. Supports end-users onsite during go-live events. Identifies, documents, tracks and resolves report-related issues through completion. 15. Demonstrates standard of performance (ownership, teamwork communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence. 16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Education: Bachelor degree preferred. Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years experience working in a healthcare or business setting. 2. Licensure / Certifications: EPIC certification in assigned application module(s) required. 3. Experience: Must minimally have 2+ years of report writing in any clinical systems or healthcare revenue cycle experience. Experience with other report writing tools such as Crystal Reports highly desirable. Additional experience pulling data from Cache or other EMR databases preferred.
