Job Description: The candidate we are seeking will have the technical “back end” experience with NextGen, with experience actually performing upgrades and installations, and experience with troubleshooting SQL server and completing performance analyses. Our client has an exciting opportunity for a NextGen Technical Support Specialist, to provide front line support and assistance to all Health IT clients. The NextGen Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for installation and upgrades of NextGen products, gathering and recording details of service calls, providing tier two support, and triaging calls to the appropriate internal or external resource for resolution. This is a work at home (telecommuting) position. Responsibilities Include: Provide NextGen tier 2 technical support services to Health IT clients through remote methods, some on-site visits, client meetings, and on-going technology documentation. NextGen and network-related installation and upgrade projects for clients, including working in coordination with network consulting team for hardware/software installation and on-going site support for clients. Provide consultation to NextGen clients on system technical architecture. Work with clients to assess, plan, maintain, implement, and analyze their NextGen environment. Participate in developing, improving, and executing quality technical support offerings, includingManaged IT Services. Supports the automation center (notification/patch/update) and support components of Managed IT Services. Responsible for remote support of technical issues for Managed IT Services clients and dispatching to network services team as necessary. Requirements: Two or more years’ experience supporting NextGen electronic practice management and electronic medical record systems, required. Associates degree in information technology related field or equivalent experience required. One year or more experience administering and installing Microsoft SQL Server required. Knowledge of software, hardware, and hardware configurations gained from three or moreyears’ experience required. Minimum of three years’ experience troubleshooting Windows servers and desktops required. One year or more experience with client/server and thin client environments (Terminal Services, Citrix) preferred. This is a high profile position requiring strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing required. Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical manner required. Excellent human relations skills required, including ability to effectively resolve conflicts. Ability to perform work on a self-directed basis and be accountable for outcomes required. Excellent time and work organization skills required. A+, MCSE, and/or MCP certification preferred NextGen certification a plus.
