Job Description: Our client is seeking a Director of Information Systems for a FTE opportunity located in Arizona. GENERAL SUMMARY: The Director of Information Systems oversees a variety of functions within the I.S. area including Electronic Data Interface (EDI), Business Systems, System Configuration, Development, Database management and help desk. This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and has a dotted line to the California Vice President of Information Technology as well as the Board of Directors. This position serves as the primary liaison to the corporate office for technical functions. This position also serves as the liaison to the corporate Security and Privacy Officers in the California office. The Director of Information Systems works collaboratively with all functional areas to ensure that their system and reporting needs are being met. This position demonstrates effective project management skills including planning, project priority setting, and project conflict resolution and managing multiple efforts concurrently. The Director if Information Systems must have a full understanding of business process management and business requirements of all functional areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee a team of 10; the Manager of Business Application Systems (1), Network Technician (1) - including network management, system security and network functionality, System Configuration Analyst (2), Business Solutions Analyst (1), Database Programmer (1), Programmer/Developer (2), Applications Developer (1), Electronic Data Interface (EDI) Analyst (1) Provide project management and operational support to organizational service areas Direct all aspects of the health plan computer system, usage, maintenance, improvements and implementations. Recommend, collect, prioritize and manage implementation of system enhancements that improve the usefulness of business software Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of project plans, business requirements, budgets and timelines involving information systems Serve as Information Systems liaison for projects requiring participation from several departments or functional areas within the company Serve as system liaison between plan and external trading partners, vendors and PBM Provide operational and system support, to include but not be limited to Operational and Financial Review preparation (OFR), Medical Management Data reporting of Performance Measures, Performance Improvement Process (PIP), claims adjudication, encounters Collect and aggregate critical data relative to health plan operations and conduct appropriate analysis of the information Responsible for budget planning for capital Information Systems expenditures as well as general budget planning Prepare routine statistical and demographic reports by obtaining, compiling, analyzing and work cooperatively to enhance the data retrieval and reporting systems in support of all areas within the organization Comply with all HIPAA requirements Meet with Administration to ensure appropriate prioritization of system requests Ensure that all staff adhere to policies and procedures relating to Information Systems

Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: Effective Management skills a must – 3 to 5 years management experience preferred 5+ years experience in the managed health care industry 3 to 5 years experience in Information Systems, Data Analysis, Business Analysis or comparable area Experience overseeing the implementation of software solutions, systems, or products Extensive experience with Business Applications Systems, AHCCCS Reference Files, AHCCCS PMMIS Experience with core software applications, including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project Effective understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives Good project management skills Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language Strong customer service orientation Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
