Job Description: Our client in Montgomery County, PA is currently hiring for a full time Asst. Director of Information Services with a Cerner background. Up to $10K relocation package + travel bonus being offered. Implementation experience of SurgiNet.sys. is preferred but not required. Travel requirement 25 – 50% depending on projects. However, travel will go down after 6 months to 20-30%. Note: Ideally, the hiring manager is looking for someone that has operating room (OR) / Surgical hands on experience.Also, Surgical application vendor experience is required...not necessarily Cerner. Position Summary: Responsible for the design, development, deployment and support of the client clinical information systems across all Acute Care Hospitals. Duties include financial management, project management and personnel management of team members. Requires knowledge of and integration with other clinical and financial systems, integration with other technologies, and process improvement related to clinical system deployment and use. Position requires occasional support outside of normal business hours as need arises.
Job Requirements: Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training and Travel Requirements : Possesses strong leadership and management skills able to address performance issues, staff hiring, disciplinary action and performance improvement as necessary. Able to provide direction and guidance to managers in multiple applications across several clinical areas including quality. Possess strong analytical skills, Project Management Certification and/or experience, Process Improvement related to workflow processes, Training, Development of educational material. Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with Executives, Physicians, Nurses and all other clinical personnel. 10 years healthcare information technology with 3-5 years management experience and / or 5 years Clinical Systems information technology experience in a multi-facility Acute Care Hospital environment. BS Degree required. MS preferred. Learns quickly, takes constructive feedback on performance, stays focused on the job with attention to detail and produces desired outcomes. Responsible for establishing an effective working process across the healthcare continuum and IS working together to improve system configuration and standardization in system usage across facilities. Researches industry best practices / configuration, compares them to current practices, evaluates the pros / cons of change and implements modifications upon approval. Establishes policies and procedures for development, testing, training, implementation and supports changes to system configuration. Performs hands on configuration if necessary and supports challenging issues other team members may not be able to resolve. Collaborates with Nursing management, Quality Management and staff personnel at client facilities and the corporate office to obtain buy-in and acknowledgement of the reasons for change. "Sells" the reasons / rationale for change and ensures the right outcome for the facility and corporation. Proposes solutions to problems without prompting predicts and avoids potential problem areas / issues handles challenging business issues and or personalities in an effective manner that avoids unnecessary issue escalation. Performs other duties as assigned / required.
