Job Description: Relocation available. This role is more of a maintenance position, not a start up or go-live so analysts with more optimization (at least 1 year) experience rather than implementation experience is desired. Basic Purpose: The Clinical Application Analyst I is an analytical resource that has an in-depth understanding of information technology and its use within patient care workflows. Candidates will have a solid understanding of policies and procedures, patient care/clinical business objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practices for patient care. The position will function in a team environment and lead the planning, validations, testing and implementation of the clinical system(s) of client hospital. Persons in this position will provide project coordination, clinical system support and customer support for information technology projects. II. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Complies with established corporate and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance methods, and safety codes. Demonstrates compliance with licensing, regulatory and accrediting agency provisions as required. 2. Consistently demonstrates appropriate and professional communication behavior toward patients, customers, and coworkers. Cooperates with Management and peers to promote an environment of teamwork and collaboration. 3. Serves as a primary resource to design, validate, build, test and implement application database and/or system changes as necessary to support healthcare operations. Knowledgeable and able to effectively address the capabilities and application of clinical information systems. 4. Logs, tracks, troubleshoots and resolves software issues as well as software modifications and enhancements. 5. Demonstrates successful project management skills by completing projects within designated timeframes, utilizing good planning and project coordination methods, having strong inter-personal communications and organizational skills. 6. Required to submit regular status reports to the project management system and maintain documentation to support project management goals. Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents. 7. Maintains current knowledge of the system(s) and/or applications(s) through: maintaining certifications, attending training courses as necessary, reading information available in trade publications, white papers and product announcements, participating in system updates, networking with other organizations, subscribing to vendor web sites and participating in vendor discussion boards. 8. Maintains knowledge and experience of healthcare business operations to effectively analyze customer needs and problems and identify and provide solutions. 9. Utilizes lean tools and methodologies to support operations use of information technology by streamlining processes and demonstrating a commitment to standard work. 10. Builds good working relationships and maintains a continuous interface with customers, vendors, co-workers and supervisor and utilizes these relationships to resolve issues and problems and explore opportunities. Participates as a member of IT Customer Advocacy Program. 11. Develop, support and maintain department documentation and procedures as needed to provide the necessary support and training to other IT staff and user clients as needed. 12. Collaborates with the integrated training team including Learning and Organizational Development, Credentialed Trainers, Department Trainers and Epic Champions to develop application specific training, curriculums and materials. 13. Serves as a champion for IT initiatives and projects. Shows initiative and creativity to assigned tasks and projects, as well as, forwards new ideas to utilize technology or process change to improve efficiency, increase customer and associate satisfaction, lower costs, increase revenue, increase physician convenience or improve quality. 14. Attends meeting to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications and updates. 15. Maintains annual mandatory education requirements specific to position as mandated by client hospital. 16. Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
Job Requirements: The Clinical Applications Analyst I candidate must be Epic ClinDoc certified. Build experience in this application is also required. III. Experience, Training, and Education: Associate level education in computer science or a related field is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of information systems experience in application and customer support and project coordination environment required; Epic system implementation and maintenance experience is required; Epic certification required and be able to provide documentation of current Epic certifications; Experience with Clinical Application systems preferred; Healthcare experience is preferred including healthcare systems commonly found in hospitals and large physician practices. Position requires a routine schedule for on-call coverage. Must have a very strong attention to detail and able to demonstrate strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to lead technology related projects and integrated teams. Able to work successfully with a diverse group of constituents including senior and midlevel leadership, physicians, and a wide range of end users is essential. Ability to adapt to the technical level of the audience is a must. Able to work under time sensitive pressures and with multiple assignments concurrently. Technical Competencies: Major clinical/operational systems in healthcare (preferably Epic) Windows OS MS Office Applications including Excel, Word and Outlook (required) Microsoft Visio (preferred) IV. Physical Requirements: (Clerical I) Position is mostly sedentary and requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods. Lifting and carrying weights of up to 10 pounds from low to high levels is occasionally required and is an essential function of the position. Grasping and reaching are frequently required handling demands. Occasional walking, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, and standing are also required. Independent decision-making is required. Mental concentration and working with precise limits of accuracy are important. Physically repetitive work comprises 90% of this job. V. OSHA Exposure Category: 3 - Tasks do not involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue as a condition of employment. Incumbent is not called upon as part of his/her position to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid, or to be potentially exposed in some way. VI.
