Job Description: Our client in Los Angeles County, CA is looking to hire a full time, perm NextGen Project Manager (non-clinical) that is suitable to lead a post implementation team. This employee will have a total of 6 direct reports. POSITION PURPOSE: The Project Manager is an experienced, highly competent, detail and customer service oriented computer professional responsible for planning, implementation and administration of all aspects of CLIENT – IS department projects. The Project Manager will partner with the CLIENT Directors and all applicable parties throughout the organization to establish the methodology, framework, policies, procedures, standards and tools used by all initiatives managed through the CLIENT. They will champion the organizational efforts to achieve project management competence through process improvement programs, comprehensive methodologies, appropriate tools, education and mentoring programs. They serve as the central point for the Project Management of Nextgen EPM & EHR implementation efforts within the CLIENT – IS department including planning, estimating, budgeting, resource allocation as well as information distribution for the entire portfolio of IS projects. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports to the Sr. Director Physician Network Development. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Select and/ or establish the necessary policies, methodologies, procedures and practices to support program and project managers. 2. Lead comprehensive planning efforts necessary to establish, measure, enhance and report organizational project management performance. 3. Lead development and maintenance of appropriate project infrastructure and tools necessary to communicate and coordinate project detail and status. 4. Assume overall accountability for organizational development and enrichment of project management competence. 5. Develop and administer educational, coaching and mentoring programs necessary to support the evolution as a project-centered organization. 6. Serve as a mentor to project managers to broaden their understanding of advanced program management, business/clinical/financial/technical concepts while ultimately targeting increasing their ability to handle complex programs and projects. 7. Establish and maintain effective communications within the CLIENT – IS department and the broader organization, including all Practice Manager, Physicians, staff and CLIENT Directors. 8. Lead selection and/or development of appropriate organizational standards for software tools necessary to support successful project management, demand and resource allocation and budget management reporting. 9. Participate in the overall IT governance process for identifying, prioritizing, scheduling and tracking status on IT projects aligned with the overall IT strategic plan. 10. Assists in the development of ROI/value proposition for all project requests. 11. Ensure stakeholder engagement and responsibility is assigned for achieving defined benefits/ROI. 12. Assign, allocate and track staffing demands and gaps based on departmental managers’ workload planning and anticipated demand. 13. Ensure systems are in place to capture resource utilization for active projects. 14. Create master schedules for resource usage and track process accordingly. 15. Chair Nextgen Steering Committee monthly meeting and provide input/ recommendations to the CLIENT Directors as required 16. Develop routine reports and communicate project portfolio status and budgets to upper management and the CLIENT Directors in the form of regular status reports and dashboard views. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: • Responsible for recruitment, staffing and personnel evaluation activities within the CLIENT – IS department. • Provides general direction and coaching to staff assigned to the CLIENT – IS department.
Job Requirements: POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years project management experience in a hospital environment required. • Nextgen certification preferred • In-depth knowledge of program and project management methodologies, techniques and tools. • Experience in strategic planning, analysis, business case development and associated financial analysis. • Ability to mentor program and project staff. • Experience with project execution, demand management and portfolio management methodologies and metrics. • Effective in leading and working in cross- functional and cross-cultural teams; including business clinical, financial and technical personnel. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • PMP or other project management certification preferred.
